Key Deliverables
The team
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to train as a Web Developer at Square Enix, working as a part of our Online Development team.
The team is responsible for Square Enix’s web presence across the western world, including the main Square Enix website, product specific sites and the underlying technology platform which supports them all. They are tasked with delivering innovative, informative and enjoyable experiences to gamers all over the world. The Web Development Apprentices will gain exposure to a range of technologies across frontend and backend development and over the course of the 18 month apprenticeship will find an area to specialise in. This is a rare opportunity to train alongside experienced professionals in an organisation that is investing heavily in digital talent to innovate and set the benchmark for videogame websites worldwide.
Your day to day responsibilities
Work towards a Level 4 qualification in Software Development Methodologies
Help build new features and functionality for our company and product websites.
Fixing bugs and troubleshooting technical problems
Continuously improve the user interface with UI/UX refinements
Build modular email templates to support our in house marketing team
Work to improve performance and scalability
Implement integrations to third party systems such as game platforms, identity systems, social media platforms and analytics tools.
The training
The successful applicant will receive an 18 month training package in Software Development Methodologies. This is a Level 4 qualification and includes the opportunity to gain industry recognised professional qualifications. Training is delivered by a team of expert tutors at The Corndel Software Engineering Academy and you will spend approximately 20% of your time in formal training and the remainder learning on the job and applying your newly-acquired skills.
You do not need to have specific experience or qualifications in software development. We are looking for high-potential candidates with a demonstrable passion for technology and a burning desire to become a successful software developer. If you are eager to learn, we will teach you the rest!

Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
A minimum of 8 GCSEs at A - C, including Maths, English and ICT or Science
At least 2 A-Levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above
Applications from graduates are welcomed, however, we are unable to accept applications for this apprenticeship if you have a degree in Computer Science or related subject.
An understanding of IT and the internet (no development experience necessary)
